About a month ago, The Most Important Blog... Ever announced my first ever Personal Antihero -- Wal-Mart -- for it's blatant censorship of books with a political message that they disagree with, including the new book by former Personal Hero Jon Stewart.
Today, we are sad to announce that there's a new Antihero out there. This asshole ran the election in Ohio, despite the fact that he's an unabashed Republican. While that in itself isn't his fault (the system is designed that way, ridiculously), this Antihero purposefully did everything in his power to suppress voter turnout in Democratic areas of Ohio, prompting several Election Day lawsuits, both before and after voting began.
For these reasons, and more, Ken Blackwell has earned the dubious Wal-Mart Douchebag Award, and has been given the evil crown of My Personal Antihero.

I guess the scapegoat has been chosen. My hopes of the Democratic party reforming over the next 4 years appear to be in vain. The same thing will happen as did in 2000. Rather than admit the party is a complete mess, they'll just blame others for their problems. Expect another loss in 2008.
Phil, thanks again for your comments -- I honestly appreciate the ability to have a good, open, and friendly back-and-forth over important issues here on The Most Important Blog... Ever. That said, please note that if our positions were reversed, you'd be saying the same thing I'm saying, which is:
Elections should be conducted by an impartial, non-partisan, public body. Period.
Blackwell IS my scapegoat, but not for what you think. I agree completely that the Democratic party needs to reform and that it is in serious disarray. Blackwell is my scapegoat for the broken election machinery in this country. It would be a lot better for all of us if there were absolutely NO doubt that Bush won fair and square. That shouldn't be so hard. All we need is some simple electoral reforms: paper trail, and impartial electoral commissions. That's it. Is it too much to ask?
Vote Green. That's what I did in 2004.
