The Most Important Blog... Ever

See the project description.

Today there was another tragic, violent death in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and the US news media that we are monitoring do not mention it on their front pages.

The BBC does mention the sad story on their front page. A Palestinian boy aged 13 or 14 was shot dead by Israeli soldiers today. He was apparently carrying a toy gun in his villiage, near Jenin in the West Bank.

This is the second time that we've noticed that other global media report a Palestinian death caused by Israelis while the US media do not. Since the start of the project, we've never noticed an Israeli death caused by Palestinians reported by other global media that was ignored by the US media we monitor.

The headline tally is still 2-2 and the photo tally still 3-2. Let's hope this is the last post on this topic.

UPDATE: AFP reports that there were actually two Palestinian children shot and killed by Israeli troops today. The BBC story mentioned above reported the first death in the Northern West Bank, and AFP reports that another child was killed in Rafah, in the Gaza Strip. We'll just count this as one story, even though it is actually two seperate incidents that the US newsmedia have apparently ignored. I suspect if two Israeli teenagers had been killed by Palestinians, we would have some US news reports about it.
