I've received late word that Governor Schwarzenegger will be in Santa Barbara today, October 12, in a staged, secret, invitation-only "town hall meeting" regarding the upcoming Special Election.

For all my important readers in Santa Barbara -- come out to the Marborg building, at 136 N .Quarantina Street in Santa Barbara, 93103 at 11:20 AM sharp to tell the Governor what you think of his Special Election. WE NEED YOU to be out to tell the Governor what you think about his invitation-only "town hall" events, and more importantly, we need you to be there so that everyone knows where Santa Barbara stands on the special election.
Schwarzenegger is currently on a secret tour of the state along with Arizona Senator John McCain. As Daily Kos reported yesterday, McCain spoke out against the Governor's secretive and invitation-only campaign, but apparently he is still on tour with the Governor.
Last night, we got a glimpse into how this secretive campaign works. Apparently, Republican activists in Santa Barbara were called late this afternoon with an invitation to a special event. When they called to RSVP, details of time and location were given. That's why no one, including the press and the blogosphere, knew about this event until just minutes ago.
