Since we have a policy that just about anyone can post whatever they want, I guess that's what we get. Spam will be deleted, and we reserve the right to delete anything from the website at any time. But pretty much we allow anyone to say anything, in the interest of free and open debate. But as you know, whatever you publish here in the form of comments or guest book entries remains your responsibility.

I applaud your tolerance, Erik. I wish we all could achieve that level of open-mindedness.
But it still doesn't excuse your improper use of the adjective racist which Merriam Webster defines as a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. I've always said the evil eminating out of the Middle East is religious/political in nature, never biological. I proudly retain responsibility for that belief. Maybe nobody ever told you Israelis and Arabs are both Semitic...?

Laslos, I applaud your ability to turn to your Meriam dictionary in moments of crisis. unfortunately, we the readers of the most important blog look to more critical readings than a dictionary for our information. As such you can take your definition and keep it in your intro to racism for white people course. Personally, I prefer Dr. Ruth Wilson Gilmore's definition of racism or simply put the "fatal coupling of power and difference" leading to premature death (2002). Now this definition of racism isnt just about markers of social progress or just about biological characterisitics as you claim. Its not even just about death in the physcial sense but also about the ideolgical work that helps to treat groups of people as if they were socially dead--i.e. social abandonment. To be clear, telling millions of people around the world that they don't exist is one of the worst forms of racism.
