Palin On The Issues

August 29th, 2008 · 5 Comments

Looks like McCain made a a great pick to help win an election, but how will Alaska Governor Sarah Palin help govern the country?  Since she’s currently under investigation for abuse of power, it’s hard to know whether she can be trusted in the second highest political office in the world.  But assuming she’s not guilty, it’s important to recognize that McCain has made a bold pick, and it’s obviously exciting to see the Republican Party nominate a woman on a national ticket.

Since this is a campaign about the issues, here’s where the Republican candidate for Vice President stands on the issues.

After reading this, I’m sure you’ll agree that this Governor Palin comparison to Obama/Biden.  Yes, that was a fantastic pun.

Some highlights of Palin’s record:

Governor Palin is in serious trouble, simply because she doesn’t appear ready, on the issues, to be the Vice President.

The National Organization for Women has also called out this nonsense:

In an interview just a month ago, she dissed the job, saying it didn’t seem “productive.”

In fact, she said she didn’t know what the vice president does.

Larry Kudlow of CNBC’s “Kudlow & Co.” asked her about the possibility of becoming McCain’s ticket mate.

Palin replied: “As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?”

This is ridiculous! Not only does this choice take all the strength from McCain’s “experience” arguments (I mean, come one, she could realistically have to step up as prez given age and stage of McCain)– the choice to bring her on the ticket is so transparently blatant its painful. Does McCain, et al, truly think Palin is an appeasement for Hilary supporters? Does any woman in politics count, just cause she’s a woman? Insufferable!
    Come se llama? Obama, Obama!!

She scares me in so many ways….but I am glad that she is not ready to be VP, because I am not ready for her to be VP!!!

Thanks for the message, Cari! I hope most Ohio voters agree with you.
