Today’s Republican Party

September 12th, 2008 · 1 Comment

McCain’s Republican Party is trying to make it as difficult as possible for people to vote. Just as they did in 2000 and 2004, this year the GOP is vote caging in Ohio, and using a list of foreclosed houses in Michigan to try to keep people away from the polls.

If the GOP were confident that their message was worth voting for, they’d do everything in their power to make sure that everyone can vote. Instead, they use the old canard of “voter fraud” to justify disfranchisement.

There is no evidence of voter fraud in the United States. And besides, if voter fraud were such a terrible problem, then the Republicans have been the biggest beneficiaries, since they keep winning elections.

Even if there were enough rampant voter fraud to cause concern, it wouldn’t justify trying to stop people from voting just because their house is in foreclosure.

McCain’s GOP: what a bunch of dirtbags.

Thanks to Arlene in Detroit for the tip on this one.

Just saw the movie “Uncounted” tonight, and it’s really scary…on how elections can be tinkered with and the wrong persons win, although the majority of the voters didn’t want him or her. Check out my blog at peoplepowergranny.blogspot.com and read about the roadblocks put before some voters at the polls and along the way. Then vote in my poll about troubles with voting.
