Senator Barack Obama Visits Erik Seeking Endorsement, Millions in Cash

September 8, 2007

SANTA BARBARA

Still desperate for Erik's coveted Important Presidential Endorsement, Illinois Democratic Senator and candidate for President Barack Obama traveled all the way to Santa Barbara, California this weekend to hang out with Oprah Winfrey after meeting with Erik.

"He gives me a lot of hope," Obama said at a post-Erik-meeting press conference. When asked what his specific plan for ending the war in Iraq is, Obama replied "When I look into Erik's eyes, I just know that he's gonna vote for me. Not only. Is he gonna vote for me. He's also gonna look deep into the soul of the American people. And that's when he'll know it's time to turn the page. It's time to turn the page on the harsh partisan bickering of the past. It's time to turn the page on violent struggle and anguish. It's time to turn the page and see an Important Endorsement for Barack Obama. Thank you."

From there, Obama went to Oprah's ranch after trying to convince Erik to come along with him. According to Erik, Erik was "too busy with trying to beat Joao II on Civilization IV" to be bothered to run over to Oprah's house again.  After slighting Oprah like that, will Erik give Obama the Endorsement?

Erik remained coy when confronted by reporters stalking him outside his car. "I just don't know. At the rally today, Obama barely let me get a word in edgewise, and I don't recall hearing anything about taking power back from the corporations. But he sure is a nice guy. I'll think about it."
