In August 2002, I took a break from my life in
Japan by heading over to Hawaii to stay with friends from Albion
College. I always knew Hawaii would be beautiful, but I had no
idea just how great it can be when you've got good friends to show you
around and fertility rocks to light your fire. Let's take a
look...

Erik at Honolulu's famous Hanama
Bay. Time to snorkel.

On the rural island of Molokai...
this is the view from the window of our beach house. Not bad.

Driving on Molokai.

More from driving on Molokai...
this is the road's shoulder. Very cool.

Our destination... the fertility
rock on Molokai.

And the fertility rock
itself. No need to click this photo to enlarge.

Speaking of, here's my lovely
friend Holli on the world-famous Kailua sandy beach.

And here's her lovely husband,
Nick. I stayed on Oahu with these great people.

Also on Oahu, at the Polynesian
Culture Center, I saw this Samoan man climb this palm tree. Took
him about 5 seconds.

Overall, a pretty amazing
vacation. Aloha!!
